The Story
- Mechanical Design Engineer
- Product Design Engineer
- Manufacturing Engineer
I have been working as an Oracle Developer for the past decade and consider myself an expert, especially in performance tuning and database optimization. I have started to feel disconnected, unsatisfied, and in disagreement with the direction the industry is heading. I am looking for a career change to pursue my passion for mechanical design and engineering. Long ago, I studied at a school with a focus on automation, where we learned about mechanical systems, pneumatics, logical gates, hydraulics, and PLC programming. At that time, it was just school, but here I am now, seeking a way to return to that world and start building things again instead of only writing database code that no longer excites me.
I understand that success in mechanical design is not only about the ability to use SolidWorks, but also about tolerancing, knowledge of materials, and manufacturing processes. Therefore, I have taken some Udemy courses and continue self-education in these areas. This path was suggested by my school colleagues, together with GPT.
I am looking for jobs somewhat from this list

FDJ – Lead Data Engineer (current)
Maintaining and evolving the Data Warehouse while transitioning batch processing to streaming and near real-time architectures. Investigating AWS cloud migration including Redshift, S3 and Redshift Spectrum with focus on performance and cost optimization. Evaluating ETL services (mainly AWS Glue) to process heterogeneous provider data formats such as JSON, XML and CSV and preparing the DWH architecture for cloud migration.
Kindred Group – Data Engineer (Feb 2019 – Jan 2023)

Unibet Group – Oracle Developer (Aug 2016 – Jan 2019)
Data Warehouse ETL developer responsible for integrations and BI data delivery. Worked in Partnership and Communication streams handling provider integrations (financial transactions, gaming data, surveys, session data). Implemented ETL pipelines using Oracle external tables, shell scripts, XML/JSON APIs via UTL_HTTP and DB links. Participated in Oracle upgrade from 11.2 to 12.1c on RAC environment (5–10 nodes, ~65 TB database, ~650 GB SGA).
Home Credit International – Oracle Developer (Mar 2014 – Jun 2016)
PL/SQL developer for accounting platform “BOOK”. System architecture contained Loading, Stage and Accounting layers. Data ingestion implemented via materialized views and INSERT ALL from two core systems. Designed accounting transformations fully inside Oracle (11.2g → 12.1c) with Java GUI frontend (Wicket). Focus on building configurable product deployable across countries with different accounting standards. Database sizes ranged from 200 MB to 4 TB.
Raiffeisenbank a.s. – Oracle Developer (Mar 2012 – Jul 2013)
Data Migration developer for core banking migration project (Everest). Developed PL/SQL mappings and tuning for internal Data Migration Tool. Pipeline moved data from ~17 systems via Informatica into Oracle stage layers (0–3) and then into Finacle via DB links or files. Migration scope ~16 TB per run, ~600 tables, ~40,000 columns. Tables partitioned by migration run with SYS_CONTEXT-based views and subpartitioning per procedure.
O2 Czech Republic – Oracle Developer (Feb 2008 – Feb 2012)
Developed monitoring and configuration system for Oracle Streams replication between production (Siebel) and ODS. Application implemented with JSP, JavaScript and PL/SQL backend. Later built order-flow monitoring and SLA reporting system integrating ~20 source systems with automated stage refresh engine using dynamic PL/SQL, scheduler jobs, DB links and partition management.
